Installation of NE-type Bucket Elevator

The NE series bucket elevator is a vertical type. Its foundation supports the entire weight of the elevator. Therefore, before installation, the foundation must be inspected.

The NE series bucket elevator is generally shipped in several parts and assembled on site. It is usually installed in the following sequence:

  • First, install the anchor bolts on the foundation, then install the lower part of the machine. Align its position on the foundation to ensure that the reference surface (upper flange surface) of the casing is horizontal. Then temporarily secure it to the foundation.
  • Install the middle casings one by one on the lower part of the machine. Generally, the middle section with the inspection door is installed in the position of the first middle casing. The first middle casing must be connected to the upper part of the machine (note the direction of the support of the first middle casing).
  • After the middle casings are installed and aligned, install the upper part of the machine. Generally, support devices should be installed at the upper and middle positions to prevent the casing from shifting sideways. The support devices should be securely fixed to the nearby building and allow the elevator to expand and contract freely in the vertical direction. Coarse canvas or woven asbestos tape and asbestos rope should be placed at each flange connection to prevent dust from escaping.
  • Install the drive unit on the upper part of the machine. First, connect the three pieces of the platform into a whole with bolts. Then connect the whole platform and eight support channels to the upper casing with bolts or welding. Weld the maintenance frame and segmented guardrails to the whole platform. Then install the power unit, chain drive, and chain wheel cover. After the chain drive is adjusted, fix the bolts. For safety, weld the drive base and the moving platform together.
  • Install the running parts. First, lift the tail shaft to the highest position, then install the chain and buckets.
  • Finally, install the left and right head covers, set up the electrical overload protection device and electrical protection switch, and install the power line on the motor of the elevator.
